Announcement of John and Irma Handov Memorial Scholarship Award Winners for 2006
The Onondaga County Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs is proud to announce the 2006 winners of the John and Irma Handov Memorial Scholarship.
KYLE W. JENNER, of Jamesville, NY, is the winner of a Handov Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $500.
Kyle is a recent graduate of Jamesville DeWitt High School, a member of the National Honor Society, was selected to the all county all-star football team, and graduated from Jamesville DeWitt with a 90.24 GPA.
He has been accepted for admission to the fall 2006 class at the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, and intends to major in the fisheries and wildlife conservation area.
STEPHEN M. TYSZKO, of Syracuse, NY, has been awarded a second Handov Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $250.
Stephen graduated from Westhill High School, and will be starting his junior year this fall at the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry. At SUNY-ESF, Stephen is vice-president of the student chapter of the American Fisheries Society, and has been involved in fisheries management projects on Onondaga Lake and the Salmon River.
He also volunteers as a member of the board of directors at the Carpenter’s Brook Fish Hatchery, and carries a 3.46 GPA at SUNY-ESF.
Scholarship Presentation
Official presentation of the Handov Memorial Scholarships to Kyle W. Jenner and Stephen M. Tyszko will take place at the Gander Mountain Sportsmen’s Festival, to be held on September 23 and 24, 2006, at the Carpenter’s Brook Fish Hatchery.
